Custom software,
built end-to-end by one engineer.

Your dedicated developer for apps, websites, and AI tools — built end-to-end for Nebraska small businesses, at a fraction of agency rates. No PMs, no handoffs, no markup.

About me

A decade of shipping software people actually use.

I'm Luke. I'll be your engineer, designer, project manager, and support line — all in one inbox. Based in Omaha, working with small businesses across Nebraska. Ten years of experience shipping enterprise research platforms, healthcare dashboards, sports-tech mobile apps, and transportation & logistics platforms. Today I take on a small number of builds for Nebraska small businesses, at a fraction of what an agency would charge.

What I build

Combine any of them.

Most real projects combine two, three, or all four. You get them shipped together — no handoffs, no integration tax, no “that's the other team.”

Built in

What every project ships with.

The boring-but-critical stuff agencies upsell as add-ons. With me it's standard equipment.

Usage analytics

See who's using what, when, and how often — so product decisions are based on real data, not hunches.

Error monitoring

Problems surface in your inbox before users complain. No more learning about outages on Monday morning.

Push, SMS & email

Reach customers where they already are. Reminders, alerts, marketing — without spam.

Accounts & permissions

Customers, admins, teams, billing seats. Role-based access from day one, not bolted on later.

Real-time data

Live dashboards, live tracking, live updates. No refresh button required.

You own everything

Source code, documentation, infrastructure, and customer data — yours from day one. No lock-in.

How I work

One engineer. One inbox. Your whole project.

You talk to the person building it. No project managers between you and the work, no design-to-dev handoffs, no account execs pricing in their commission. The same engineer scopes, designs, writes, and ships — which means a typical project costs a third of what an Omaha agency would quote, moves twice as fast, and comes with the developer's direct cell number.

Direct communication

Slack, email, or a quick call. No tickets routed through three people before they reach the developer.

Faster iteration

Decisions in hours, not sprints. The same person who hears the feedback writes the fix.

A fraction of the cost

No PM time, no account-management overhead, no markup on subcontractors. You pay for the work, not the org chart — typically 30–60% less than an agency quote for the same scope.

Working with businesses in Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue, and across Nebraska — in person where it makes sense, remote where it doesn't. Source code and docs are yours from day one.

TheDriver — a transportation platform with paying customers today

Riders book trips on iPhone or Android. Drivers see their assignments, run turn-by-turn directions, and clock in. Dispatchers watch every active trip on a live map and handle the back-office — billing, reminders, calendar sync, automated reports. Built and shipped end-to-end by me, in production right now.

Common questions

Things people ask before reaching out.

How much does a project cost?
Most fixed-bid projects land between $2k and $25k depending on scope — small AI integrations and fixes start under $1k. You'll always get a flat quote up front, not an open-ended hourly meter.
Are you actually cheaper than an agency?
Yes — meaningfully. A typical Omaha-area agency quote starts around $25k for a project I'd quote at $8–15k. The difference isn't skill; it's overhead. Their bid pays for project managers, designers, account execs, and the layers between them. You skip all that with me.
Do you only work with Omaha businesses?
I work with small businesses anywhere in Nebraska — Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue, Council Bluffs, anywhere within an hour or two for in-person meetings. Remote elsewhere in the state when it makes sense.
How long does it take?
A focused build is typically 2–8 weeks. Bigger systems run a few months. I share progress weekly so there are no surprises, and you can pause or pivot at any milestone.
What if I already have a developer or designer?
Even better. I work alongside in-house teams all the time — picking up the part you don't have time for, or the piece outside your team's wheelhouse.
What's the smallest project you'll take?
Anything from a single AI integration in your existing app to a quick admin dashboard. If it can ship in under a week, I'll usually take it.
What happens if you get hit by a bus?
You own everything from day one — source code, infrastructure, accounts, and documentation. Any developer can pick up where I left off. No vendor lock-in, ever.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes. After launch I offer light monthly retainers for maintenance, fixes, and small features. Or hand off cleanly if you want to take it from there.
